Housing an eclectic collection of high-end designer products, Cantaloupe Boutique introduces two new designers to the helm. Introducing ‘the saree’ to its top notch designer store, Cantaloupe Boutique will feature creations by Vrou and Yolanda Aluwihare.
Vrou is the brainchild of Sarita Rajandran and Shyam Hettiarachchi, which produces a boutique-style collection of bejewelled clothing, amongst them, sarees.
The brand, with its refreshingly new outlook on fashion offers stylish yet practical and wearable designs that accentuate the real beauty of a woman. Vrou fuses the best of cultures, a touch of Western and Eastern that blend seamlessly as one, but has a distinctive Sri Lankan feel to it.
Yolanda Aluwihare is a name that has always been synonymous with fashion in Sri Lanka, with well over 30 years of design experience under her belt. Inspired by naturalistic colours and designs, each of her creations is chic, elegant and the only of its kind.
Her work fuses the complex art of silk painting with natural materials and batik design, which give these pieces a combo that sets it apart from the rest of the market.
Both saree collections are now available at Cantaloupe Boutique, located at the Galle Face Court, which is one of Colombo’s most prestigious and sought-after colonial spaces.
