A gathering of word players who share their raw and polished words, written, uttered, and sung in languages known and unknown will take place today at Hansa Café, 24, Fife Road, Colombo 5 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Annasi and Kadalagotu Poetry Pilau is a platform for Sri Lankan poets to come together and share their work, their thoughts and ideas. Initiated by group of enthusiasts, it is a space for expression, free of form with poetry bursting into song.
Musicians, poets and artists alike vent their frustrations with Colombo’s higher-than-thou society and higher-than-tolerable temperatures. Cramped into a tiny coffee shop, sitting on paduru and nibbling on samosas, words lost at sea find their shore. Annasi and kadalagotu not included.
All are welcome, entrance is free.
