The biggest names within Colombo’s travel and tourism sectors came together recently, to celebrate the launch of “Dees Hospitality Solutions” -

an innovative new company which promises to bring creativity and out-of-the-box ideas to Sri Lanka’s hospitality industry.

As a part of the many ventures and plans in store for this fresh young entrant to the corporate world, “The Banquet Company” was also launched under the Dees umbrella at the same event. As the brainchild of Dunstan Kanagasundram and Hemant Dadlani - two reputed and well recognised professionals within the hospitality industry - both companies are poised to bring about a fresh perspective to the way in which events, weddings and hospitality services are approached.

The parent company, Dees Hospitality Solutions, will look to provide new and established restaurants, bars, hotels, and boutique hotels with a list of specialised services ranging from overall design, menu layouts, creation of wine-lists and conceptualisation of innovative cocktails. The company also provides a much required auditing service to ensure that brand and industry standards are consistently met.

On the other hand, “The Banquet Company” offer prospective clients a host of options and a range of creative styling. It promises to create a fresh outlook when handling any event - from corporate cocktails to awards functions.

“The Banquet Company” is also set to focus on the more fun-side of life by specialising in a range of themed parties - from a traditional beach and garden settings, to the more unconventional locations as required. Another main focus for the company will be the coordination and organisation of destination dream weddings, where every tiny detail is looked into to taking all elements of a wedding to exotic locales.

While welcoming guests at the launch, Dunstan Kanagasundram and Hemant Dadlani, the brains behind the two innovative companies also made a brief presentation on the strengths and benefits of outsourcing events to professional event planners.

During a combined career span of over 35 years, both Dunstan & Hemant have gained a wealth of knowledge and skills from both local and international experiences.

While Dunstan’s 27 year career saw him rise up the chain of command at one of the country’s leading 5-star hotels, he also gained an impressive reputation as one of the industry’s most well-liked and respected professionals. While speaking about the two companies he said, “With The Banquet Company we look at providing a one-stop-shop for our client’s helping them make the best decision possible at their convenience. Dees Hospitality Solutions will help budding restaurateurs and hoteliers realise their dreams by providing them with a total package for all their hospitality requirements.

Meanwhile, Hemant brings to the table a career spanning 11 years - which saw him working at some of the most prestigious hotels in Sri Lanka, Asia, Australia, and Europe. At the launch, the young entrepreneur emphasised the importance of constantly researching, learning, and reinventing in this particular industry. “The hospitality industry is rapidly growing, and Sri Lanka is well poised to lead the way. While we constantly draw a wealth of knowledge from past experiences, it is imperative to conduct research and identify emerging trends to continuously raise the bar in the hospitality arena.”

The Banquet Company is a wholly owned entity of Dees Hospitality Solutions - both companies are striving to give a fresh new look and feel to any project undertaken, thereby taking the hospitality industry to greater heights.
