Wickramarachchi Opticians’ new Zeiss Vision Center opened in Colombo, on 10 November.
Zeiss supports the independent optician with sophisticated technology in connection with premium products and a clean, modern and timeless shop design. With the opening, the new store joins a successful model worldwide, as around 200 stores in Zeiss have already been opened in more than 35 countries.
The state-of-the-art facility in Colombo was officially opened by Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella, Minister of Foreign Affairs G.L. Peiris, German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Holger Seubert, Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka Chief Delegate Andreas Hergenroether, and Wickramarachchi Opticians Chairman Mihira Wickramarachchi.
High-quality eye care combined with a new shopping experience
In an age of online shopping, people visit a store to enjoy a shopping experience where all their needs are met. A visit to Zeiss Vision Center is precisely that: an authentic experience. During the entire stay, all relevant aspects are considered: from store concept to modern Zeiss devices and systems, current eyewear trends, innovative and individual precision lenses and the symmetrically structured consultation process for determining vision requirements – the so-called ‘Zeiss Vision Analysis’. But what makes Zeiss a special partner is its many years of experience and tradition, reflected in all the knowledge, quality of products and precision that accompanies the process, always to provide the best eye care for all spectacle wearers.
This year, the company celebrates its 175th anniversary and an outstanding legacy in optics. Zeiss was founded in Jena in 1846. When Zeiss started the company, its customers were inspired by curiosity, passion and precision. Despite how the world has changed over the past 175 years, one thing remains the same: challenging the limits of imagination.
Iconic store design by a specialist architect
Each Zeiss Vision Center is individually designed but has the unique Zeiss look thanks to iconic design elements, some of which are even patented. The sophisticated design guides visitors through the visual analysis process and creates a consistent look and feel throughout the store. In the future, customers will experience this in the 335 square metre store in the centre of Colombo.
“For the first time in Sri Lanka, Wickramarachchi Opticians is introducing a Zeiss Vision Center, a state-of-the-art eye care centre in collaboration with Zeiss. With this association, we aim to provide an automated, contactless visual experience and solutions that are much more than lenses for our customers. Our mission is to set up more Zeiss Vision Centers in Sri Lanka with a strong relationship between Wickramarachchi and Zeiss,” said Wickramarachchi Opticians Chairman/CEO Mihira Wickramarachchi.
Commenting on this association German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Holger Seubert said, “German companies have been reliable partners for many decades. They stood by Sri Lanka in good times and in the bad times. Corporation in the health sector has been particularly fruitful – and as we can see, is continuously deepening. I am very happy to have the honour of participating in the grand opening of the Zeiss Vision Center. I congratulate Wickramarachchi Opticians on this great achievement.”
Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka Chief Delegate Andreas Hergenroether says, “I am very proud that Zeiss, one of the largest producers of optical lenses worldwide has partnered with Wickramarachchi to offer its unique and innovative solutions to Sri Lanka.
