It is that time of year again, when SriLankan Airlines’ Christmas Carols service ‘Christmas on Wings’ spreads its warmth and fills the air with Christmas cheer. Being held for the 34th consecutive year, ‘Christmas on Wings’ comprises talented voices from amongst the airline staff and their families, who come together for this charming performance regardless of religion or ethnicity.
Presented as a Yuletide pageant of music, drama and prayer, ‘Christmas on Wings’ is an annual event in the airline’s social calendar that is eagerly awaited for by its staff, as they organise the entire evening themselves, strongly supported by the senior management of the airline.
‘Christmas on Wings’ is scheduled to be held on 16 December at Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Kynsey Road (next to the Institute of Cardiology) from 6 p.m. onwards. The Chief Guest on the occasion will be SriLankan Airlines Chairman Ajith Dias, who will be accompanied by SriLankan Airlines CEO Capt. Suren Ratwatte. The Christmas Message will be delivered by Fr. Suresh Dias Bandaranaike, Parish Priest Church of the Good Shepherd and Chaplain NCYMCA.
The entire evening will be enormously captivating, with drama and song adding to the festivities of the Christmas season. Organising this event every year provides staff with an ideal opportunity to forge bonds with colleagues and work together in a true spirit of camaraderie and fellowship. This cultural evening provides both the management and staff of SriLankan Airlines an opportunity to rejuvenate mind and spirit as they enter the New Year.
‘Christmas on Wings’ is a very professional performance by staff who joyously sacrifice free time practicing for this gala evening. Entrance is free for the public.
