Spring & Summer launched the ‘Expression Collection’ with Nadini Premadasa – a participant of ‘Sirasa Super Star 2007’, on 25 March. The collection is a collaboration with local artists, allowing them to
create their own line of clothing that truly expresses themselves.
The new line made in collaboration, is a limited-edition collection that offers a range of elevated wardrobe essentials that are aesthetically appealing, versatile and available at an affordable price. In addition, customers (through this collection) receive a fashion line that caters to their daily needs in wear, whilst also remaining on trend and in-fashion.
Spring & Summer Co-Founder Shyamalie Wijegunawardena noted, “The Expression Collection will be the first in a series of upcoming collections that allow for talented local artists and designers to express themselves. We are happy to kick-off with Nadini as we share in mutual values, allowing us to grow as a family.”
Commenting on the new collection and the process, singer Nadini Premadasa stated: “I am pleased to have received this opportunity from Spring & Summer. It’s given me the chance to launch a line via the ‘Expression Collection’. I was given the autonomy to be heavily involved at the design table, personally picking out the fabrics and the colours for each garment. I wish Spring & Summer the best of luck, as they keep pushing the boundaries of Sri Lanka’s fashion industry.”
Concluding Wijegunawardena stated, “We like to grow with the communities in which we exist. Spring & Summer has, with this initiative, received the opportunity to grow with our local artists, giving them complete control to create their own fashion line. This has allowed them to express themselves through each iconic line.”
Spring & Summer was founded in 1995 by Daya and Shyamalie Wijegunawardena. The clothing brand, at present, has six major outlets in Wattala, Nugegoda, Maharagama, Panadura, Colpetty, and Bambalapitiya and is available via an online store, with delivery island-wide. As one of Sri Lanka’s leading retail brands, Spring & Summer has 85% of its products designed and manufactured locally.
