Taj, the oasis in the city, heralds the festive season by spreading the love and inviting you to join in sleigh-ing it this Christmas with an abundance of indulgences.
Tis the season indeed to be jolly as you enjoy the lavish spread of delectable delicacies at the ornately decorated Gingerbread Hut. Opening its doors from 5 December to 5 January 2022 at the lobby level, you are certainly spoilt for choice with the festive treats.
Featuring an array of authentic seasonal goodies such as Dutch breudher, Christmas stollen, love cake, traditionally decorate Christmas fruit cake, Yule log and the all-time favourites from chocolates to crunchy and moist cookies, preserves and sauces and much more the Gingerbread Hut contains a treasure trove of treats, including customised hampers for you and your loved ones.
Enjoy a taste of homemade goodness this season as we spread good cheer at the Homemade Charcuterie Station, which will be open till 5 January 2022. Specially prepared for you by Executive Chef Samila Kumarasinghe and his kitchen brigade, the homemade lamb salami, lamb chorizo, smoked lamb, honey ham, smoked seer, smoked thalapath and many more will certainly stir joyful memories of bygone Christmas’ enjoyed with family and friends.
For those who prefer to dine in, Ports of Call will feature an enhanced seasonally-oriented spread of dinner buffets from 1 December daily from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. The brunch will feature an internationally and locally inspired variety of over one hundred dishes every Sunday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
All restaurants will offer seasonal beverage offerings during lunch and dinner.
As part of the merriment, Taj Samudra provides seasonal live entertainment with Poolside Fridays at Taj – featuring “Ishini and the Branch” performing weekly on Friday night from 7-10 p.m. You can also indulge in the hotel’s flavoursome a-la-carte menu and beverages while you are serenaded by the festive music.
Music lovers are further indulged with the mellow but cheery piano music and violin performances every Friday and Saturday at the Lobby while sipping a specially concocted cocktail or mocktail on request at The Lattice.
The highlight of the season is Taj Samudra’s famed ‘Mistletoe wine and dinner’, a traditional Christmas eve dinner buffet including a glass of sparkling with live entertainment available at the Ports of Call on 24 December from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Special appearance by Santa Clause will add to the sparkle of Christmas Day as families and friends gather to celebrate and create heartfelt moments this Christmas.
Traditional Festive roast brunch including all the favorites such as succulent turkey and stuffing roll, herb roast lamb, mixed nuts loaf, and much more will be available at the Ports of Call on Christmas Day. The ultimate collection of the most loved Christmas day dishes will be prepared by our Executive Chef Samila Kumarasinghe and his kitchen brigade this season.
