Leather Collection unveils Christmas range with designer Kalli Mehra

Impeccable design and festive bonhomie came together when Leather Collection heralded the season with the launch of a snazzy new Christmas Collection at a wine and cheese evening at its flagship store, with Indian design celebrity Kalli Mehra of ‘Kokommo’ fame gracing the event and displaying her handcrafted clutches and jewellery.

The launch came hot on the heels of the opening of Leather Collection’s latest store at One Galle Face Mall, Colombo’s posh international shopping development. The new store is located at L2-42, One Galle Face Mall, and will also feature the new Christmas collection.

Ladies’ and gents’ bags, accessories, and jewellery and a range of ladies’ footwear including flats, heels, wedges and sandals representing timeless fashion that fuses traditional and modern design elements are offered in this Christmas collection. 

Commenting on the new range, Leather Collection founder and Managing Director Niloufer Anverally said: “We intend to expand our existing product line and connect with younger consumers by making the brand more dynamic and affordable. It’s the perfect time to explore new trends and statement pieces with our new collection.”

Kalli Mehra, whose exclusive collection of glitzy, seasonal couture clutches and jewellery were introduced at Leather Collection’s cocktail evening, is the co-founder of the luxury accessory brand ‘Kokommo’.

‘Kokommo’ supplies to leading high end boutiques of India and has been a part of Fashion Weeks in Mumbai and Delhi. The brand has collaborated with fashion icons such as Sabyasachi and Anamika Khanna by creating exquisite accessories for their collections. ‘Kokommo’ collections have been showcased in South Africa, Singapore, Dubai and Paris, and can be found in leading retail stores in England as well as in boutique retail outlets in Europe and USA.

The founder of Leather Collection and Raspberry, Niloufer Anverally ventured into business nearly three decades ago after completing an Economics degree at the University of Mumbai.  She was honored as ‘Business Role Model of the Year’ 2017 at the ‘Top 50’ Professional & Career Women Awards presented by Women In Management (WIM) and has been named among the 50 Most Powerful Women in Sri Lanka by Echelon magazine.
