Hameedia, the leading menswear brand in Sri Lanka and the most trusted home grown brand with an exception eye for style and quality, recently celebrated its 70th anniversary at the Head Office in Ratmalana on 25 November. The event was hosted by the Hameedia Head Office staff, including the senior leadership teams.
The home-grown pioneer in men’s fashion has completed seven decades of providing superior quality menswear and exceptional service to the fashion-forward Sri Lankan men from all walks of life.
Former Cargills CEO and current Sri Lankan Retail Association President Sidath Kodikara graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Addressing the staff, he spoke of the retail sector, its position as the single largest employer in Sri Lanka, its importance as a medium to connect with the consumer and its contributions to achieving consumer aspirations. He stressed that the success of a company is its staff reiterating, “Look after your staff, and they will look after your customers”.
Commenting on this momentous occasion, Hameedia Managing Director Fouzul Hameed said, “It brings me great joy to be able to share this moment with everyone who has helped bring Hameedia to the centrefold. Speaking on the occasion, Hameedia Group General Manager Chinthaka. R. Wanigasekara said, “We are humbled by how far Hameedia has journeyed over the last couple of decades. With 70 years of experience knowing what works, the management is looking at implementing various changes in the leadership and strategic business operations in the coming year,” he added.
