Cinnamon Grand celebrated 12 years of hospitality excellence on 26 November. The day’s festivities began with a religious ceremony with priests from all four doctrines coming together to invoke blessings on General Manager Rohan Karr, the management of Cinnamon Grand and over 400 associates. A common message of peace, harmony and hard work was shared with the gathering who all came together to show gratitude and appreciation for 12 years of abundant success.
Thereafter, associates enjoyed a time of fellowship which featured a presentation on the Grand Story compiled by the Learning and Development department and the cutting of the Cinnamon Grand Birthday cake, and refreshments. In his address to the gathering Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, Sector Head City Hotels, General Manager Cinnamon Grand Rohan Karr thanked all associates for 12 years of hard work and dedication while requesting that they further cultivate the sense of family that has taken Cinnamon Grand to the forefront of the hospitality industry.
In keeping with the air of celebration and transformation, two outlets that were in operation since the hotel was established were revamped and reopened on that day. Coffee Stop, the favourite piazza style hang-out spot was re-opened with a new menu, new look and Grand flair! Tea Lounge, the stylish tea bar was also transformed into a more high-end setting with new menus and new furnishings. Guests at the hotel were also a part of the celebrations and enjoyed birthday cupcakes as they walked through the lobby.
Cinnamon Grand was unveiled as the flagship hotel of the Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts chain on 26 November 2005 with a 24-hour indulgent experience; a feat that has been sustained by the hotel for the past 12 years by offering its patrons luxe accommodation, superlative services and eclectic dining experiences. Cinnamon Grand is a true leader in the hospitality industry having won many accolades in its 12-year history and is the only Sri Lankan city hotel to be inducted into Tourism Hall of Fame.
