Christmas is a season full of joy, laughter and family time. It is also holiday season for the kids and if you are a parent, grandparent or care-giver, the holiday season can definitely seem a little overwhelming especially when you have to keep the kids occupied. To counter this dilemma, Sri Lanka’s favourite entertainment hub Waters Edge is giving kids and parents an opportunity to enjoy the largest kiddies Christmas party in the island for the fifth consecutive year.
In previous years the Grand Lawn at Waters Edge has been transformed to a Winter Wonderland, Santa’s Workshop and a Land of the Elves. This year a traditional Christmas Village will come alive with all the festivities. On 3 December, the beautifully landscaped Grand Lawn will be ‘The Kiddies Christmas Village’ where a merry-go-round, carnival Ferris wheel, bouncy castles, toy trains and tons of fun activities like water walkers and zorb balls will keep kids occupied for hours on end.
And then there’s the galore of Christmas goodies turned out by the award winning culinary team at Waters Edge for the kids to enjoy once they’ve worked up an appetite. There’ll be savouries and sweet treats all colourful and Christmas themed laid out in one of the largest buffets in the country. This year’s overboard buffet spread will feature rainbow sandwiches, colourful stuffed eggs, mini corn dogs, crab croquettes, assorted éclairs and macaroons, chocolate trees, mini Yule logs, Christmas cookies and cupcakes and the all important chocolate fountain. Action stations serving up piping hot French Fries and Sausages and typical carnival treats like Candy Floss and Ice-Cream will keep the parents busy too.
The highlight of the party will be Santa’s arrival on a sea-plane. He will bring with him bags of goodies for each and every kiddy regardless of whether they have been naughty or nice this year.
The grand Christmas experience will be priced at Rs. 2,600 nett per guest. Kids below four years of age will walk in free of charge. The event will be held on Sunday, 3 December from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Lawn, Waters Edge. Parents who wish for their kids to receive a present from Santa may drop the gifts off at Waters Edge on or before 30 November. For more information on the event, contact Dilrukshi on 0773 587419.
