Stores stand today as a hallmark of luxury, style and quality, and is one of the most respected and influential brands in Sri Lanka. The latest selection of Breitling models will be housed at the flagship store at Alfred House Gardens.

A specialist of technical watches, Breitling has played a crucial role in the development of the wrist chronograph and is a leader in this complication. The firm has shared all the finest moments in the conquest of the skies thanks to its sturdy, reliable and high-performance instruments. One of the world’s only major watch brands to equip all its models with chronometer-certified movements, the ultimate token of precision, Breitling is also one of the rare companies to produce its own mechanical chronograph movements, entirely developed and manufactured in its own workshops.

The inventor of the modern chronograph

A chronograph specialist since its founding in 1884, Breitling played a crucial role in the development of this type of instrument. ln 1915, the brand foreshadowed the emergence of the wrist chronograph by inventing the first independence pushpiece at 2 o’clock. ln 1923, it separated the “start/stop” functions from “zero resetting”, thereby making it possible to add up several successive times. ln 1934, it set the final touch to the modern face of the chronograph by creating the second independent pushpiece. ln 1969, it heralded a new era by presenting the first selfwinding chronograph movement. Today, Breitling is one of the rare watch companies to have its own mechanical chronograph movements, entirely developed and produced in its workshops.

The authentic

partner of aviation

Ever since the era of the first “magnificent men in their flying machines”, Breitling has shared all the finest moments in the conquest of the skies. lts onboard chronographs equipped World War ll fighter planes and subsequently the commercial aircraft of the world’s major manufacturers and airline companies, earning the brand the status as “official supplier to the world aviation”.l-952 saw the birth of the famous Navitimer with its circular slide rule intended for airborne navigation. ln1962, this model became the first space-going wrist chronograph. 1984 witnessed the launch of the Chronomat, the benchmark among aviation chronographs. Breitling perpetuates these longstanding ties by associating with the biggest aeronautical events, by running several exceptional flight teams and by cooperating with the world’s elite pilots and aerobatics squadrons.

The master of performances

Trained in the tough school of aviation, a domain where safety is of vital importance,

Breitling displays the same obsession with quality in all its “instruments for professionals”.

The brand submits all its movements to the merciless tests of the Swiss Official Chronometer

Testing lnstitute (COSC) – the highest token of precision and reliability. lt also stands out in the realm and electronics by using exclusively SuperQuartz movements that are 10 times more accurate than standard quartz, and by developing exclusive calibres including a connected chronograph. Be it sturdy cases, legible dials or robust bracelets, every detail of the watch exterior is designed to withstand intensive use under the most trying conditions.

The new spirit

of discovery

Breitling has redesigned its Superocean H6ritage line, dedicated to modern-day explorers.

The result is a new face as original, pure and dynamic as ever, for this highly successful collection that is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2017.

First launched in 1957, the Superocean professional diving watch – rapidly adopted by the first enthusiasts of leisure diving – has since spawned several generations of instruments boasting peerless aquatic performance. Yet Breitling has also preserved the spirit of the original model in a line named Superocean H6ritage that has become one of the brand’s stellar collections, thanks to its unique and timeless look combined with cutting-edge technology.

To mark the 60th anniversary of this pioneer of wide-open spaces, Breitling had reinvigorated its iconic design while maintaining its unique character. The main development took the form of a new steel bezel with an ultra-hard high-tech ceramic ring that is scratchproof and extremely shock-resistant. The unusual shape of the hands, along with the slightly cone-shaped hour-markers, reinforces ties with the 1957 model, while ensuring optimal legibility enhanced by luminescent markers.

The Superocean H6ritage ll is available in two sizes (42 and 46 mm) and as a 46 mm chronograph, all available in three colours: black, blue and bronze.
