This was Kumar’s second performance for the year and his audience gave him an uproarious welcome! Sassy, saucy and scandalous Kumar kept his audiences in fits of laughter. He started off by warning his audience that his show was not for the faint-hearted, neither was it for those with a serious sense of humour. “I make fun of everyone and everything and if you get offended then I am not the man or woman for you,” he said.
His shocking innuendos and cheeky observations will make the most serious audiences crack up. As for his sexual innuendos the audience just loved that! The sold-out show had the audiences clamouring for more with Kumar delivering exactly what he had promised, a good romp. The one hour show was followed by a sumptuous buffet, with entertainment by Umaara, Randhir Witana, Romaine and The Redeemers to name a few. With the audience unanimous despite the rain it was a well-spent evening.
Singaporean-born Anita Dorai who was responsible for bringing Kumar down was delighted with the response and said she will be bringing down another class act sometime next year to delight Sri Lankan audiences. “We were sold out in a short period of time with people clamouring for tickets.” All in Kumarlicous gave audiences yet another spectacular show filled with pithy punchlines and salacious quips. A fun-filled evening with good food, rollicking humour, great entertainment and camaraderie. The sponsors of this year’s show were Taj Samudra, Singapore Airlines, Sri Lanka Tourism Board, Porsche, Devi Jewellers and Wijeya Publications all of which contributed into making the show a huge success. Proceeds of the event will go to Wheels for Wheels Charity Group.
