The pandemic has not only changed the way we do everything but has posed a few challenges in how we stay fit and healthy as well. Many of us have gained a few more pounds than we should have and have slid into a lifestyle void of the activity and exercise we would normally have. But now all that can change for AIA Insurance customers. In keeping true to its promise of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives, AIA Insurance has introduced a brand-new fitness solution.
AIA has partnered with leading online fitness provider Fitzky to offer all customers access to free online fitness classes from the safety and comfort of their homes. All AIA customers will be entitled to 12 free online fitness classes every month with some of the top trainers in Sri Lanka.
They will provide lived streamed guided sessions over video for a wide variety of fitness classes including Zumba, Yoga, HIIT, cardio, strength and conditioning training, abs training and body weight training. Through the introduction of this solution, AIA is able to help make a tangible difference in people’s lives by helping them achieve their health and wellness goals.
AIA’s CEO Nikhil Advani pointed out that “as the Best Life Insurance Company in Sri Lanka (awarded by the Global Banking and Finance Review- 2019, 2020) we go that extra mile to bring our customers the best health and wellness solutions. The threat of the pandemic still looms but that doesn’t mean we should compromise on our wellbeing. That is why we, together with the help of Fitzky, have taken this game changing approach to insurance, by offering free fitness classes to our customers, in their own homes. As a company committed to helping people live healthier, longer, better lives, this is yet another example of us changing the model of insurance from ‘you die-we pay’ to helping you live life.”
AIA’s AGM Marketing Shevanthie De Alwis added, “AIA, together with its partners are constantly pushing boundaries and breaking barriers to provide a new generation of insurance that is relevant for the world we live in today. Our health and wellness solutions have set a trend for the whole industry and has transformed the way the company does business.”
She explained, “Research suggests that Sri Lankans understand the importance of healthy lifestyle choices but are slow to act on them. This has worsened with the pandemic. That is why AIA is focused on creating a free and easy-to-use eco system of wellness solutions to give our customers a nudge to get fit and healthy. We were the first insurer to offer telemedicine services even before the pandemic, having partnered with Sri Lanka’s pioneer telemedicine provider oDoc. We then augmented the offer further with another industry first by providing customers FREE access to Sri Lanka Medical Council registered wellness specialists via the oDoc app. Now we partnered Fitzky to offer our customers an unparalleled online fitness experience and we will continue to expand our eco-system to offer our customers more and more opportunities to get healthier.”
Fitzky Founder/CEO Shehan Adikari commented: “We are delighted to tie up with a premier brand such as AIA, in taking fitness and wellbeing to the homes of their customers. Our inspiration is to make fitness accessible and affordable to everyone in Sri Lanka and this resonates with AIA’s purpose of helping people live healthier, longer, better lives. I view this partnership as a major milestone in our company’s journey and I am excited to work together with AIA to make Sri Lanka a healthier nation.”
