I refer to the news item in your esteemed newspaper where Gayani De Alwis, Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Logistics has stated the country faces enormous financial and man hour losses in workplaces estimated at billions per year. Won’t such saving benefit the development of the country?
Can any country afford to bear such losses in man hours? What about the loss in foreign exchange, a scarce resource? What then should we do? Should we not limit transport within the city to public transport only as several large cities do? It will save financial resources as well as time spent which is also scarce.
But will our authorities in charge take notice? They seem to be deaf, dumb and blind.
