The U.S. Embassy is hosting an American Pavilion at the Hotel, Hospitality, and Food (HHF) Tourism Trade Show, being held between the 27 and 29 of October at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Center.
Pavilion hours will be from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. The exhibition is organized by Montgomery Worldwide, a UK based convention planner, and PICO Sri Lanka.
The exhibition provides the hotel and hospitality sector with a wide array of equipment, services, and technology that will help the tourism industry enhance the quality of their product while also attracting higher end tourists to the country.
In light of industry forecasts for Sri Lanka’s record growth in the tourism sector to continue, with more than 2.5 million tourist arrivals expected by 2015, Sri Lanka’s hospitality sector will need to meet the increased demand for rooms and luxury services by developing new hotels and upgrading current properties and services.
According to Chief of Economic Affairs at the U.S. Embassy Edward Heartney: “Tourism in Sri Lanka is experiencing unprecedented growth and we feel the timing of this trade show is ideal to showcase American products and technology that can enhance and improve Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and help develop a truly international product that will be attractive to a diverse tourist market.”
The following U.S. Companies or their agents are participating at this event: Microsoft Inc, IBM, Cummins Inc, 3M, Washington Apple Commission, BMIL Technologies Inc, American Premium Water, Discovery International, Widac Commercial Interiors, Infotechs, Sunil Traders, East West Foods, Freelanka Trading Company and Commercial Lynks.
Coca Cola is the official beverage partner of the American Pavilion.
