Three nights of fresh seafood at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo continues to offer exceptional value for money, this time with its three day seafood promotion.

The hotel celebrates the ‘Splendours of the Sea’ from 15 to 17 March where almost every imaginable type of seafood is served along with a complete buffet of appetizers, salads, mains and desserts.  

The unique element of the evening is the role the diners play in their meal.  Guests are presented with a selection of seafood on ice and five action stations allowing them to specify their preferred method of preparation.



The Thai Station will offer green and red curry or Thai chili sauce preparations whilst the Chinese Station will serve up stir fried, hot garlic or black pepper dishes.  Other stations will offer batter fried or Tandoori seafood whilst the Grill will churn out dill mustard, chili coriander, cajun or spicy garlic flavoured dishes.

The freshest seafood will be handpicked by the hotels chefs and will include a colourful array of red snapper, yellow fin tuna, baby mullet, baby paraw, seer, lagoon crabs, sea crabs, sword fish, handallo, prawns, clams, mussels, cuttlefish, shark, sea bass, paraw, mackerel, a variety of small fish and for a supplementary charge based on weight, lobster may also be requested.

While the fresh seafood is prepared, guests may dig in to a platter of homemade smoked seer, calamari and prawns, seafood ceviche, a mixed seafood cocktail or oysters with accompaniments.  The salad buffet will comprise bell peppers with feta in grilled baby eggplant, avocado and artichoke with mesclun Caesar salad, shrimps with pasta and sun dried tomato, assorted greens and an oriental seafood salad.  In keeping with the theme, the soup of the evening will be a mixed seafood chowder.  

Amongst the main dishes on the buffet, guests can expect to experience a Goan fish curry, an Oriental crab curry, fish Amrithsari, the hotel’s famous Singapore noodles with shrimps, spicy vegetable fried rice, vegetable lasagna, sautéed potatoes with onion and parsley and a broccoli and cauliflower gratin.  To end the night on a sweet note, the pastry chefs will have an assortment of irresistible desserts attractively presented.   For those who’ve missed the ‘Splendours of the Sea’ promotion in previous months, here is an opportunity to make good with your taste buds.  As for those who have been before, they will need no convincing.  The promotion is open from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. from 15 to 17 March, and is priced at Rs. 1,500++++.  For reservations or inquiries the hotel may be contacted on 2491998.
