With cowboy hats, boots, and the sweet twang of guitar strings, The Mavericks, Germany’s most popular country band, will be performing live at Jetwing Blue from 29 to 31 October. Led by Dirk Glaessner, the band is one of the world’s best at this unique genre of music. A favourite in Sri Lanka, the Mavericks have been performing regularly in the country. Organised by the Country Music Foundation, the show promises to be one of fun and enjoyment, especially with the ambience that is the Centre Point, overlooking the wide Negombo beachfront. The Mavericks comprise the charismatic Dirk Glaessner on guitar/vocals; Stefan Sperling on lead guitar/vocals, Tobias Sauter on drums/vocals and Rainer Krebs on bass guitar/vocals. They last visited Sri Lanka in February for the 25th Country Roads show. Jetwing Hotels Director Operations Jerome Auvity praised the ability and talent of the band, saying: “Country music lovers are surely in for a treat, as Dirk and his boys capture the true essence of the genre in all aspects of their show. It’s going to be a great series of shows, and I look forward to seeing them play in Negombo for many more years to come.” For more information, contact Jetwing Blue on 031 2279000 or Jetwing Beach on 031 2273500.
