The Ceylon Continental Hotel plans a special Thanksgiving holiday dinner designed for family and friends to enjoy on 24 November from 7.00p.m. to 11.00p.m. at the Emerald restaurant priced at Rs. 1,600 excluding service charge and government taxes. Children below six will be able to dine for free, while children between ages six and 12 will be charged 50 per cent of the rate.
This American holiday stems down from the feast held between the English pilgrims and the native Wampanoag to celebrate the colony’s first successful harvest. Thus, in true American style and inspired by traditional American holiday favourites, the Emerald Restaurant will feature a complete dinner that offers the many flavours of Thanksgiving dinner.
The evening begins with a choice of starters including delicate pumpkin soup. Whole roasted turkey with mouth watering stuffing including seasoned bread, apples, onion tossed in with sage, served with a generous portion of tangy cranberry sauce will be the specialty of the event.
A variety of potatoes and corn on the cob will be some of the traditional dishes at the buffet. The desserts will include rich pumpkin pie and cranberry mousse to warm scrumptious apples stuffed with raisins and almonds served with rich vanilla sauce.
The Emerald Restaurant will provide a cozy setting for Thanksgiving dinner with its interior decorated in warm and rich shades of orange and browns with the warmth of the candlelight flickering across the room.
Adding to the excitement, Ceylon Continental Hotel has started ‘take home’ scrumptious roast turkey at Rs. 1,550 nett per kilo. The hotel will offer a further convenience and give guests the option to have it delivered to their very own doorstep.
