Prepare for the final of Act Before You Think!

As the Warehouse Project in Maradana filled up for a third consecutive night on 29 September, everyone seemed to be in anticipation of an exciting night ahead. With Round III of Season II of Act Before You Think – Colombo’s much-loved theatre-games event – about to commence, everyone seemed to sense the electricity in the air. It was going to be a special night. And the two teams lined up to compete that night, Garam Masala and Retro Trucking didn’t disappoint.

The two teams were in full-form, making Round III the best night of the Second Season so far. Each team played the games with team unity, energy and innovation – constantly keeping the audience laughing and bringing the scores up after each game neck-and-neck. Games such as Helping Hands – where two members from each team had to step forward and enact a scenario with one person’s hands behind their backs while their partner provided the hands and arms – and Scene Dubbing – where each team was given a silent movie clip and asked to provide a dialogue for it – ended in thundering applause and resounding laughs from the audience, which couldn’t seem to decide which team was better. With each game, and with the night progressing on, it was always a close competition and the two teams kept it up, never letting their own scores fall too far down and never letting the other team get too far ahead. There was much suspense ultimately – as both teams seemed contenders for the title. This hotly and closely contested round of ABYT ended on a high-note – with Retro Trucking only losing to Garam Masala by an extraordinary 2 points! Garam Masala, which consisted of Benjamin, Nadim, Brandon and Sajiv, were the winners of a fantastic gift voucher for China Doll – as well as the reward of becoming one of the finalists of Season II.

Now The Ahindas (winners of round I), Dishum Dishum (winners of round II) and Garam Masala (winners of round III) are preparing for the ultimate act-off this Thursday, 6 October 2011, at the finale of Act Before you Think Season II. Be there at 8 p.m., at the Warehouse Project, Maradana. Tickets will be available at the gate. The final promises to be more exciting and fun than ever before, with all three teams ready to do what it takes and willing to pull out all the stops for the title and grand prize.
