Sri Lanka’s much loved Pizza Brand Pizza Hut, launched its latest home service innovation, the aptly named “HOT DOT Challenge” at their Union Place outlet recently.

This fun and bold new initiative is a promise that Pizza Hut gives its loyal customers of delivering the highest quality pizza Hot and Fresh to their doorstep.

“In our constant dialogs with consumers, again and again they tell us that the key reason to choose one restaurant brand over another is the quality and the freshness of the food,” says  Yasa Nadarajah  CEO of Pizza Hut –Sri Lanka. “We are known for consistently high standard of food quality and delivery efficiency. But we wanted to take this commitment a step further and give our customers something over and above what other competitive brands would be able to offer. Hence the launch of the Hot promise!”

“The HOT DOT Challenge amply demonstrates our willingness to be held accountable for what we promise to deliver to the customer.  The concept is very simple; the pizza box comes affixed with a heat sensitive sticker. This sticker is black in colour at room temperature. When you insert a Hot pizza in to the box the sticker absorbs heat from the pizza and turns white with the word HOT written on it. The sticker will read HOT for as long as the pizza is Hot. So should a customer get a pizza that has a black sticker on it, it means we have not delivered on our promise of a Hot pizza and it is only fair that the customer gets the pizza free,” assured Nadarajah.

Director Marketing for Pizza Hut - Sri Lanka Ramzeena Lye elaborating further stated; “Worldwide, our commitment has always been to deliver the freshest pizza Hot and On Time to our customers doorstep. In Sri Lanka we have lived this philosophy with our commitment to making the finest pizza and running the most efficient delivery system in the country. The Hot Dot has been successfully adopted by Pizza Hut in many countries across the world and we thought it is the ideal way to give the Sri Lankan consumer a tangible and measureable way to gauge our promise on delivering hot pizza. In addition this will add a fun and adventurous element to the whole home delivery concept and we believe this will revolutionalise the way restaurant brands offer home service.

Vice President of Operations Nelu Fonseka  said: “Our back-end operations have been continuously improved to stay ahead of the growing customer demand.”

“Our state-of-the-art call centre and kitchens at each outlet are able to meet the expected increase in our sales with increased efficiency and consistent delivery timelines, so we do not expect to have to disappoint any of our customers,” he added.
