The limited edition ‘Otara’ Handbag, designed by Sri Lanka’s iconic entrepreneur Otara Gunewardene for Oriflame Lanka was sold-out in less than a week since it was launched.
The entire edition of 2,000 handbags, each valued Rs. 4,990 was completely snapped up between 1 and 6 April 2011.
Sold island-wide through Oriflame consultants, the black bag, made with shiny PU leather with a quilted stitch design, sported an engraved silver plaque for a luxurious finish and a magnetic click lock in the bag’s strap.
“I am very pleased that the bag sold so well for Oriflame and I am happy that there were so many women who found it a useful addition to their wardrobe,” said Gunewardene. “I enjoyed designing it and working closely with Oriflame to create a bag for their valued customers.”
Managing Director Oriflame Sri Lanka Erik Stenback said: “Oriflame users are discerning, quality and style-conscious consumers and the ‘Otara’ bag was an appropriate accessory for them. We are proud that our first locally inspired, locally designed product was a grand success. I look forward to working with Otara again in the near future.”
