Global Towers Hotel announced the launch of its Yacht Cabin Cabanas with a bang on 29 October.
The hotel’s management put their heads together and came up with a theme so scary that it turned out to be one monstrous event; the ‘Yacht Cabin Cabanas Halloween Nite’ held in a 5,000 sq. ft venue attached to the plush surroundings of the hotel.
Merry makers joined in the revelry which took off from 8 p.m. until the wolves howl.
The open air event held in the hotel’s Yacht Cabin extension comprising of a cluster of straw-thatched summer huts which was lit up eerily, illuminated carved pumpkins, witches lamps, graveyards, coffins, skeleton attire of the staff, face-painting depicting Halloween characters and freaky sound effects. All in all, the entire night was innovative.
A 15 minute dance performance from Michael Jackson’s 1983 Thriller music video kept the audience enthralled and a Dracula rising-from-the-coffin drama was enacted with wailing and banshee screeching to add spice to the event.
Participants wore face painting depicting characters from Frankenstein to ghosts which contributed to the night’s scary atmosphere. A spooky DJ kept the revellers going and all joined in the Halloween spirit by putting their creativity to the test with spooky face-painted looks and costumes by taking part in devilish dancing till midnight.
“We have promoted several parties in Global Towers since 2004 and this is the first time we have organised an event in our new Yacht Cabin Summer Hut,” said Tilome Nanayakkara, General Manager of the hotel.
“With a growing need for outdoor catering specially in keeping with the seafront atmosphere, we hope to further develop this concept and open its doors to organising creative events and also promote the hotel’s several promotions.”
