Booking air travel online with Emirates has won a senior corporate sector executive a free ticket to Singapore from the award-winning Dubai-based international airline.

Senaka Kakiriwaragodage, Assistant Vice President – Corporate Advisory at NDB Investment Bank was the lucky first winner of a promotion launched by Emirates to reward passengers who book and purchase tickets online for travel originating in Sri Lanka.

One more air ticket and a total of 140,000 Skywards Miles from the Emirates frequent flyer programme remain to be won in the promotion, which concludes in January 2011.

To be eligible to receive the remaining air ticket, or tranches of 30,000 or 40,000 Skywards Miles (which can be redeemed for free tickets), outbound travel in respect of each booking period should be completed by the last day of the month. The promotion applies to adult passengers only.

Emirates’ online booking facility allows passengers to make bookings at any time and from anywhere. Besides the convenience, there are also special online fares, and periodic offers and opportunities to earn extra Skywards Miles by booking online. Additionally, a unique feature – the Miles Accelerator – offers extra miles on specific routes on a month-to-month basis.

The winner of more than 400 major international awards, Emirates operates 21 services a week between Colombo and Dubai, and daily flights to Singapore, making a total of 28 flights a week to and from Sri Lanka. The Emirates network now serves 105 destinations on six continents.
