Disco King Alston Koch has stormed into the Australian charts with his dance album anthem ‘Don’t Funk With Me’ hitting No.2 last week. The veteran funkster, aged in his 60s, returned to the charts after nearly 40 years in the music industry.
The album is now set for release in other parts of the world and especially the sub-continent by SONY.
It ranked higher than efforts from Katy Perry, Air Supply, Crowded House, Gotye, The Bee Gees, Neil Diamond, etc.
The album also charted at No #2 in the dance album listings for five weeks running and climbs from No#22 to No#16 with a bullet in the ARIA overall international albums.
The Australian music industry has bestowed on him the titles of ‘Funk-Master,’ ‘King of Dance Music’ and ‘The Purveyor of Disco Soul,’ while the Australian & Pacific press dubbed him as the ‘Grand Pa’ of dance music in an all city publication throughout Australia.
Alston concluded a huge tour throughout Australian Clubs lasting almost six weeks and concluding at the Hard Rock Cafe in Sydney last weekend.
