Mount Lavinia Hotel (MLH) will present Carte blanche au Jazz, with le Olivier Franc Quintet from 16 to 18 June. Reputed to be “the greatest soloist and creator of the history of Jazz”, Sidney Bechet, will be best interpreted by Olivier Franc. Recreating the same passion through the compositions as the master himself, Olivier Franc’s Jazz Quintet will begin a diffusion of French culture at MLH.
The Quintet will perform on:
16 June – Jazz on the Paradise Beach will sell tickets at Rs. 1500
17 June – Dinner and Jazz in the Empire Ballroom will sell tickets at Rs. 6000/-nett
18 June – Jazz on the Terrace – Rs. 3500
Then the Quintet makes way to French Chef Jérôme Laurent, he will present La Haute Cuisine de Jérôme Laurent à l’honneur from 20 to 23 June.
He is amongst the Star Chefs of France. Chef Jerome Laurent hails from Arles, France and has been awarded with the distinguished one Michelin star for his restaurant Le Cilantro in 2007.
His cuisine represents Mediterranean style with many roots of his ancestry and of course, Mediterranean cuisine has always been a great choice especially for southern French kitchens since it delivers unique sea freshness and blends well with other influences.
