People have gathered for a century in New York to ring in the New Year. This year the Ceylon Continental will be having a unique Times Square themed party revolving around the dazzling lights and Hollywood-esque glamour.

Guests can relish in the grand experience of ‘the city that never sleeps’ even before they enter the Hotel, with red carpets and limousine – a perfect paparazzi moment, before they enter the Sapphire Ballroom.

Aspects of New York will add to the palatial magnificence of all venues at the Hotel – the Ballroom itself, Foyer, Kids Care area, and the Garden Terrace area. Bright lights that are set to rival the lights of Time Square itself will be featured in and around the rooms, amidst themed décor.

New Year’s Eve party tickets priced at Rs. 7,093 per ticket and Rs. 5,911 per ticket include a selection of premium alcohol and wines, a chef’s selection of hors d’oeuvres and buffet, a midnight countdown with a confetti, balloon and firework explosion. Guests can also step inside the cash bar, where they will be able to purchase the most premium of alcohol throughout the night. Champagne can be bought at any time through the party.  This New Year’s Eve party is not to be missed.

Famous band Doctor led by Lanthra Perera and DJ Shiran will play the top dance, house and hip hop tracks through the night whilst Faizal Bongso will countdown the clock to the midnight celebration at Ceylon Continental.

Ticket sales began on 23 November 2011 at the hotel’s Banquet Office and will consequently move to the Hotel Lobby by 15 December 2011. A special discount on champagne will be available for purchases made before 10 December.

Kids care services will be available at the hotel with fun activities and music, allowing parents to stay close to their loved ones and still enjoy the exuberance of New Year. “The New York experience combined with the Sri Lankan’s love to party will surely make this special evening an unforgettable treasure,” General Manager Kamal Munasinghe said.
