Ceylon Continental Hotel’s Heist Bar has unveiled their plans for 2011, in their quest to spearhead Colombo’s nightlife. Through continuing hit events and signing up bands for daily entertainment, the location seeks to sustain and improve on its meteoric rise in popularity over the latter half of 2010.

Speaking from the fashionable Heist Bar adjacent to Continental’s beachfront pool, Director/General Manager Upul Gamage estimated that the location is usually packed with decked out partiers, where the scene usually heats up towards the latter hours of the night. “Earlier in the evening, we get some hotel guests,” he said, “but late at night, patrons include masses of nocturnal partygoers, and guests who have previously attended and loved our promotions.”

“With the advent of our band schedule, where live music has been signed up on a daily basis, we can expect the atmosphere to be decidedly more themed and focused towards guests seeking their favourite setting and music.” GM Upul Gamage revealed.

Taking inspiration from successful promotions under the Hotel’s first year under the Hayleys Group, the Heist seeks to continue several promotions and deals on offer to guests.

The Happy Hour will continue from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. from Saturday to Thursday and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. The special one-to-one offer exists on selected beverages.

Heist will offer special hot and spicy snacks and main dishes including Stir Fried Chicken or Cuttlefish, Roasted Cashew Nuts, Chicken or Beef Satay, Chicken Winglets, Crumbed Fried Prawns and so on.

Popular cocktails including the Bar’s latest themed Cocktail of the Week selection will continue to be on offer.

The Ladies Night promotion, a huge success and Heist Bar’s most successful monthly event, draws an impressive crowd. Its popularity is due to the combination of first class sponsors, great deals and prizes, elegant fashion shows and promotions targeted at ladies of all ages, GM Upul Gamage revealed. The promotion will continue every second Thursday of the month.

“Popular might be an understatement when describing the Heist on Ladies Night. It is obviously a very specific crowd – Ladies Night appeals to all ladies looking for a night out filled with great entertainment and music. But this has drawn our largest crowds of late.”

On Friday nights starting at 9 p.m, guests will continue to experience some of Colombo’s most sizzling fashion show experiences. “It’s become a stylish agenda item because the Heist itself speaks the fashionista’s language. This has always drawn an immense crowd, and we anticipate that this will continue, much like our hit event, the Ladies Night.” GM Upul Gamage continued. The next Ladies Night event is scheduled for the 10 February, with the theme of the night as yet unrevealed.

The Heist Bar is open from 10 a.m. to midnight, and open till 2 a.m. on Fridays. The Ceylon Continental Hotel is now owned and managed by the Hayleys Group. To experience all that Ceylon Continental has to offer, please call 242 1221, Ext: 1410 or visit www.ceyloncontinental.com
