Ceylon Continental comes alive with Russian Dance and Food on 15, 6 Sept.

Ceylon Continental Hotel will come alive with a Russian variety dance and a Russian food promotion on the 15, 16 September.

Together with the Russian Centre in Colombo, the Hotel will host the World renowned dance troupe “YUNOST” as they showcase the rich performing arts culture of Russia at the Hotel’s recently renovated Sapphire Ballroom.

The two day event is also inclusive of a Russian food promotion, offering guests traditional and authentic cuisine of Uzbekistan, prepared by Russian Chef Irkin Abdullaev to ensure authenticity.

The tickets will be priced at Rs.1,000  and Rs.2,500/- for the Variety dance followed by an after party on 15 September. In addition, a free beer mug will be on offer for the Rs.2,500 ticket.  All tickets will include of a 15% discount at the Russian dinner Buffet at the Emerald.

On the 16 September Ceylon Continental  will feature a Russian dinner along with the Variety Dance where the ticket will be priced at Rs.4,500

 “YUNOST” was founded in 1976, by the creative dance choreographer Anatoly Sazonov who serves as the current permanent director.

YUNOST’s repertoire extends to different trends of modern dance, jazz dance, broadway-jazz, afro-jazz, soul, street-jazz, disco and many others. The troupe has toured Europe, Asia and Africa, having thrilled audiences at concerts throughout Russia and the CIS countries. Over the years they have been awarded several honorary titles and diplomas, for outstanding performances and contribution to performing arts.
