British Scholars’Association of Sri Lanka X’mas party on 18 Dec.

The British Scholars’ Association of Sri Lanka has organized their Annual Christmas Party on Friday, 18th December at 7.30 p.m. at the Colombo City Hotel, 33, Canal Row, Colombo Fort.

The Association, which was founded in the year 1985, was inaugurated under the aegis of the British Council with the High Commissioner for the United Kingdom in Sri Lanka and the Director of the British Council in Sri Lanka as ex-officio patrons. The aim of the Association is to promote understanding, goodwill, friendship and social intercourse among the British Scholars and to promote, encourage and assist in the dissemination of knowledge, British Culture, science, technology and humanities among the people of Sri Lanka.

Membership is open to persons who have followed study/training courses in universities/higher education institutes in Britain for not less than one academic year or who has undertaken tailored study programs in Britain of not less than three months duration under the auspices of the British Government.

The current President of the association is Prof. Ravindra Fernando, Senior professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Faculty of Medicine, Acting Director for the study of Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and Chairman of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.
