Authentic Sri Lankan cuisine at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo

This month’s hopper night will take place on Wednesday, 29 December, at the Poolside garden area beside the tranquil waters of the hotel’s pool and the Beira waterfront from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Crispy, stuffed hoppers and egg hoppers, string hoppers, kottu rotti, vegetables and meat curries, pittu, babath, chicken curry, fish ambulthiyal and many other Sri Lankan favourites are prepared by the chefs and served buffet style. A calypso band makes its way around each table entertaining guests and obliging with requests. Traditional Kandyan dancers will make appearances to keep you entertained.

Just about every imaginable local dessert will decorate the dessert counter. Be it lavariya, dodol, milk toffee, kokis, kavum, asmi, halapa, mung kavum, coconut rock or banana fritters, every bite will take you further back in time to when these treats were prepared at home just for you. To complete the journey, the staff will then serve a traditional ginger tea.  When it’s time to depart you will linger, unwilling to leave a place of such comfort, but fear not, the ‘Hopper Night’ will return with more treats very soon.
