RIYADH: American Express Saudi Arabia Ltd. (ASAL) has won American Express Global Network Services President’s Award for outstanding performance in 2010, the company announced.

The award was given in recognition of ASAL’s outstanding marketing and service quality, which is a hallmark of the American Express brand, Priyan Attygalle, chief executive officer of American Express (Saudi Arabia) Ltd., said.

Considered as the highest honour that can be given to its partners, the award recognises organisations that stand out in a number of areas including developing innovative marketing campaigns, launching compelling and unique products, demonstrating superior customer service and making strategic enhancements in areas such as operations and technology.

“We are happy and honoured to receive this distinguished award which recognises our remarkable growth over the past year, surpassing targets and exceeding expectations. Our leadership and commitment to delivering outstanding products and services were the key drivers of our success, as well as our strong business growth,” said Attygalle.

He said the company will continue to innovate and deliver world-class products and services to Saudi Arabian customers.

Fahad Mubarak Al-Guthami, chief operating officer of American Express (Saudi Arabia) Ltd. said: “As a Saudi incorporated company we are very proud of this achievement. Winning this prestigious award is an important barometer, placing us among the top in the American Express Network at a global level.”

He also pointed out that it bears eloquent testimony to the high calibre of the ASAL staff whose services should be appreciated at such an occasion.

“ASAL has truly distinguished itself as a top performer, and their admirable performance has set them apart as the best among our exclusive network of GNS partners,” said Peter Wright, president, American Express Global Network Services.

This is the second prize that American Express (Saudi Arabia) Ltd. has received from American Express Global Network Services, after the marketing award for the best premium product launch that the company received for the launch of its Centurion Card in 2008.

American Express (Saudi Arabia) Ltd. was established in 1999 as a joint venture company equally owned by Amex (Middle East) EC and the Saudi Investment Bank.

It owns and operates the American Express Cards and merchant business in Saudi Arabia.
