BigBon smartphone app to give the user the power to filter incoming promo info
zMessenger, Sri Lanka’s award winning integrated mobile marketing company, has launched a unique smartphone app named BigBon that helps users to filter and receive the best deals and offers from merchants of their choice. The app also uses state-of-the-art Augmented Reality (AR) technology for users to find the deals around them in a given location.
The BigBon app, available for both iOS and Android platforms for FREE, is specifically tailor-made for individuals who want to pick and choose the best deals and offers from those offered by their credit cards, loyalty cards, favourite retailers and restaurants. The app is completely customisable and allows the user to select the interest categories, favourite brands, shops and online deal providers he or she prefers to get notified about.
In addition to this, the user can explore the deals at a specific location by turning on the “scan around me” feature which is operated using Augmented Reality (AR) technology which will display a list of close proximity deals around a user.
BigBon smartphone app concept
Speaking about the concept behind the BigBon smartphone app, CEO of zMessenger Jayomi Lokuliyana stated: “In today’s fast-paced world, mobile phone users are constantly bombarded by various deals and offers from different merchants. More often than not, these offers are irrelevant to the recipient resulting in the individual not paying much attention to them as it becomes a nuisance in their day-to-day lives.” She added that as a result, even if an interesting promo is sent, the recipient might ignore it or miss out on it altogether.
This is where BigBon comes in. With this unique app, the user has the power to decide what he or she receives and is not at the mercy of the merchant sending out these deals and offers. Once the app has been installed, the user has to simply select the merchant that he or she wants to get promo alerts or mobile coupon from. He or she can select to receive deals based on the credit cards, the loyalty cards or even based on the club or society memberships. So the next time the individual gets a promo alert, he or she would know that its from one of the merchant or other party that was selected and not from a random, irrelevant merchant. And since everything is on personalised screen, access is that much easier,” Lokuliyana added.
Beneficial to the user
Elaborating further about the product, Lokuliyana stated: “To the user, the BigBon app’s redeemable mobile coupons feature means no more cutting papers or misplacing coupons. This is very beneficial to the user as it saves a lot of time as the user has easy access to the promos around them. It also helps the merchant because now they can send targeted promos in real time to their customer base thereby increasing the chances of converting it into sales.”
She added that the whole new experience of choosing the deals and customising the app together with the unique Augmented Reality feature will appeal to today’s growing smartphone user population. “End of the day, it’s all about using technology to offer up-to-date information in a convenient manner and this BigBon app certainly does that.”
In addition to this, the Big Bon app also allows users to send feedback to the merchants which will allow them to send specific, targeted promos to each customer. The merchants will be able to get to know their customers’ likes and dislikes at a more personal level. The merchants can also get detailed reports on a campaign in order to streamline their marketing efforts. Loyal customers can be rewarded through exclusive deals and discounts. Merchants have the flexibility of managing coupons and adjusting them with ease, thereby running effective campaigns and increasing ROI.
