WSO2 announced yesterday that products from its WSO2 Carbon enterprise middleware platform won six categories of the National Best Quality Software Awards for 2011 (NBQSA 2011).
WSO2 Application Server won the NBQSA 2011 Overall Gold Award, as well as the Gold Award in the Tools and Infrastructure Category. WSO2 Governance Registry earned both the NBQSA 2011 Overall Bronze Award and the Silver Award in the Tools and Infrastructure Category.
WSO2 Identity Server earned the Gold Award in the Research and Development Category, and the WSO2 Carbon platform received a Merit Award in the Tools and Infrastructure Category.
The NBQSA 2011 awards are organized by BCS The Chartered Institute for IT Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section. Each year, the awards recognise individuals and organisations in Sri Lanka for their outstanding achievements in contributing to the development of information and communications technology (ICT), creating a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products, and improving the standards and quality of local ICT products and services to compete in the international marketplace.
“We’re honoured to earn six NBQSA 2011 Awards, which recognise world-class technology innovation and quality,” said Dr. Sanjiva Weerawarana, founder and CEO of WSO2. “They validate the ground-breaking role of our WSO2 Carbon componentized open source platform in enabling IT professionals to decide exactly which middleware functions they want to deploy — and when — based on their individual project demands.”
The 100% open source WSO2 Carbon is the industry’s first fully componentised enterprise middleware platform, which complies with the OSGi specification. Today, it includes 12 middleware products — including the award-winning WSO2 Application Server, WSO2 Governance Registry, and WSO2 Identify Server — that are all based on the same core enterprise-class framework and use the same unified graphic management console.
As a result, developers can easily deploy and customise any of WSO2’s middleware products and avoid the integration challenges of traditional middleware, enabling greater flexibility and agility to meet changing enterprise demands.
WSO2 is the lean enterprise middleware company. It delivers the only complete open source enterprise SOA middleware stack purpose-built as an integrated platform to support today’s heterogeneous enterprise environments — internally and in the cloud.
WSO2’s service and support team is led by technical experts who have proven success in deploying enterprise SOAs and contribute to the technology standards that enable them.
