WSO2 to host CIO Forum on ‘Digital Transformation’

untitled-3Enterprises today are increasingly turning to technology to streamline operations and maintain their competitive edge in the industries they operate in. The need of the hour is a digital transformation strategy that will help these enterprises leverage digital technologies that enable innovation thus boosting revenue. 

On the heels of a successful user conference held in Colombo earlier this year, WSO2 Inc. will host a CIO Forum titled ‘Digital Transformation: Are You Ready?’ on Monday, 17 October, at Cinnamon Lakeside. It will discuss how companies in Sri Lanka can take advantage of open source technologies to build their respective digital strategies and, by doing so, offer a digital experience to their customers as well. 

The forum will include talks by WSO2 Founder, CEO, and Chief Architect Sanjiva Weerawarana, Vice President of Solutions Architecture Asanka Abeysinghe, and Vice President of Strategy Jonathan Marsh followed by cocktails and networking. Sanjiva Weerwarana Ph.D 

Founder, CEO and Chief Architect, WSO2 

Sanjiva has been involved with open source for many years and is an active member of the Apache Software Foundation. He was the original creator of Apache SOAP and has been part of Apache Axis, Apache Axis2 and most Apache Web services projects. He founded WSO2 after having spent nearly 8 years in IBM Research, where he was one of the founders of the Web services platform. During that time, he co-authored many Web services specifications including WSDL, BPEL4WS, WS-Addressing, WS-RF and WS-Eventing.

Asanka Abeysinghe 

VP – Solutions Architecture 

Asanka spearheads the company’s customer facing technical tasks and oversees the solution architecture and technical sales functions. He also provides consulting to key WSO2 customer and conducts workshops specifically targeted at enterprise architects and technical managers. Asanka has over 15 years of industry experience, which include implementing projects ranging from desktop and web applications through to highly scalable distributed systems and SOAs in the financial domain, mobile platforms, and business integration solutions. His areas of specialisation include application architecture, development using Java technologies, C/C++ on Linux and Windows platforms.

Jonathan Marsh 

VP – Strategy

Jonathan joined WSO2 in 2006 and has since led the WSO2 Mashup Server team as Director of Mashup Technologies. He has held a variety of business and technical roles within WSO2 and currently assists with strategic initiatives.
