WaveNET, a leading supplier of telecom value added network infrastructure, announced the opening of its new office in Dubai recently expanding its global footprint.
“Dubai offers us a great platform to service our growing client base in Africa and also to open up new markets in the Gulf Region,” WaveNET Chief Executive Officer Suren Pinto said.
WaveNET’s core Messaging and Voice platforms provide mobile and fixed operators with the critical network infrastructure needed to provide value added services such as SMS, Voice and Video and Roaming services to their customers. WaveNET has had a long association with the local telecom operators and has played a key role in supplying critical infrastructure to all the operators in Sri Lanka.
“Working with the local operators has given us a strong foundation to expand our business overseas. It has been a great privilege to power such critical services such as SMS for operators like Dialog and Mobitel over the years,” Pinto added.
The expansion into the Middle East will also open up more advanced markets for WaveNET to focus on its next generation VAS platforms which have been designed and developed with the next wave of Telecom networks in mind. “We have invested heavily in R&D over the last few years looking at the industry from different perspectives and coming up with real solutions to operator problems,” he said.
As networks evolve to become more data centric, the demand for traditional services will be impacted and a new wave of data services will evolve to take its place. “Carriers in the global marketplace have shifted their Next Generation 4G LTE deployment programs into high gear, said Pinto, adding that “We need to be ahead of the curve on this and we are already working with some key customers in the Middle East to roll out WaveNET’s next generation VAS which stitches Mobile networks and the Internet for a seamless user experience.”
WaveNET is a VAS Infrastructure Specialist with its core expertise in SS7, 3G and IP technologies to various telcos, locally and overseas.
