Tholons Lanka completes shared service centre project with Hayleys Group

Globally renowned Hayleys Group, one of Sri Lanka’s largest and most diversified public companies operates in global markets and manufacturing, agriculture and agri business, transportation & infrastructure and consumer & leisure industries. 

Hayleys chose to engage with Tholons Lanka, the local arm of Tholons Inc; a leading full-service strategic advisory firm for Global Outsourcing and Investments, to provide consultancy services to set up its Shared Service Centre (SSC) that aims at process rationalisation and cost optimisation. Tholons has a large footprint in the Philippines, India, USA, and the UK and recently ventured into the Latin American region.

The SSCs are a network of entities local or worldwide, which operate to provide financial services for controlled companies, at a support ‘shared service’ platform. The centres offer transaction based processes for its customers. By implementing best practices across the business, these centres will benefit Hayleys by increasing productivity, reducing working capital, reducing expense, rationalising systems, achieving process and system standardisation, enhancing control over the serviced business units and improving service levels.

Tholons provided consulting and implementation services for the cardinal functions of finance & accounting. The scope included assessment, design and implementation services. Once setup, this SSC will accommodate 200+ personnel and will be capable of scaling even further. The SSC named; “Hayleys Aquila” will be housed by Hayleys Business Solutions International (Pvt.) Ltd., a Hayleys Group Subsidiary.
