Mobile application development company Thiken has launched a free app for the Sri Lankan market that takes away the pain of manually entering long pin numbers every time a person needs to recharge their phone.
With the Recharger app, downloadable from the Google Play Store, all the user has to do is point the phone camera at the recharge card and the Recharger app automatically detects the PIN number.
The app even detects the user’s mobile carrier, whether it is Dialog, Mobitel, Etisalat, Hutch or Airtel, so there is no need to enter any other code. Just press ‘Dial Now’ to recharge the phone instantly.
Within days of its launch, Recharger reached number 3 in the Top Free Tools category and number 9 in Top Free Apps in the Google Play Store and surpassed 32,000 downloads in just nine days. The app was used for approximately 52,837 reloads in nine days.
Recharger was developed with the Sri Lankan market in mind as there is a high usage of recharge cards in the country. According to the product team based in Colombo, “We just wanted the user experience to be simple and fast!”
Thiken works with startup and enterprise clients in the US. They are currently working with some exciting US-based startups in industries like aviation, recruiting, entertainment, health and fitness and social networking to name a few, while also developing a few community apps for Sri Lanka and the US.
The Recharger iOS app is already in the App Store review process and will be out early January.
