The Colombo Camps Community, a community renowned for facilitating landmark IT events in the country, such as the Software Product Engineering Conference and the Colombo Agile Conference, now brings about another first within Sri Lanka’s fast-growing ICT sector – the Colombo UX (User Experience) Conference 2015. Slated to be held on 19 March at the BMICH’s Committee Room A, a dynamic experience awaits software professionals at Sri Lanka’s first-ever conference dedicated to UX (User Experience), which aims to create an open platform to invoke inspiration and innovation among the country’s vibrant IT community. The event will feature speakers from varying industries and backgrounds, who will touch upon a number of topics relating to user experience in software engineering, from the very foundation of the subject right up to the end user and everything in-between. From an experienced professional or a newbie in the field, there will be something fresh and new for everyone to learn from. The speakers will include Cinergix/Creately Co-Founder and CEO Chandika Jayasundara, AOD International Design Campus and Sri Lanka Design Festival Founder/Managing Director Linda Speldewinde, 99X Technology UX Architect Rasika Mahindasiri, ReadMe.lk Editor Yudhanjaya Wijeratne, 99X Technology Technology Manager Hasith Yaggahavita, AOD International Design Campus Program Head of Visual Communication Alain Parizeau, Anything.lk Former Head Of Production Adnan Issadeen and 99X Technology UX Lead Hasanga Abeyratne. User Experience or UX, as it is commonly known, involves assessing a person’s behaviour, attitudes and emotions about using a particular product, system or service to create meaningful experiences. Given the increasing importance placed on ensuring delightful user experience as opposed to addressing an end-user’s needs, UX is an area that is becoming imperative in the sphere of software engineering. This event will be geared towards UX designers, UI designers, business analysts, IT professionals, sales and marketing associates, quality assurance engineers, tech entrepreneurs, etc. The CCC is an independent community of software developers that has played a vital role in bringing together specialists in various IT-related niche segments. It has done so through a series of camps, meet-ups and conferences. These include the Colombo iPhone Dev Camp, Colombo SharePoint Camp, Colombo Code Camp, Colombo Agile Camp, Colombo Architecture Meetup, Colombo Perf Test Meetup, Colombo Mobile Developer Meetup, Colombo Security Meetup, Colombo Selenium Meetup, Colombo Agile Conference and the Software Product Engineering Conference. The Colombo UX Conference 2015 is supported by ReadMe.lk as Digital Media Partner and Tickets.lk as Exclusive Ticketing Partner. Tickets are priced at Rs. 4,500 for the full-day event – for more information on the event and purchasing of tickets, please visit www.colombouxconference.com or check it out on https://www.facebook.com/CMBUXCon and https://twitter.com/CMBUXCon for regular updates.
