Sri Lanka Cyber Games 2013 will kick off on 13 December through to 15 December. This three day intensive competitive gaming event and festival will be held at the BMICH Hall C for the 6th time uniting the country’s best gamers and cyber-athletes throughout the country. The Grand Final will bring together over 1,500 of the best ranked gamers who will vie for prestige, cash prizes and the honour of being named the top performing cyber-athlete. Organised by Gamer.LK, a multi-genre video game community powered by Sri Lankans from all over the world, committed to promoting the PC and console gaming culture in the island, this year’s Games festival is themed ‘Celebrating Gaming Culture’. The event features the country’s largest e-Sports Championship with regional qualifiers and many other festivities such as costume play, gaming hardware and software displays, mobile and tablet games, face painting, workshops and giveaways throughout the three days. Conceived in 2008, the Sri Lanka Cyber Games e-Sports tournament brings together the best cyber-athletes from around the country. The festival was initially begun as an initiative by Gamer.LK to give digital entertainment a platform and the exposure it deserves in Sri Lanka. Today the e-Sports scene in Sri Lanka is a competitive arena grown in statute easily rivalling other tournaments in South Asia in size and quality. Leading multinational companies are sponsoring this year’s event. The platinum sponsor of the festival is Dialog, with MSI, Logitec and MAS Holdings supporting the initiative as silver sponsors. Sun FM, SHA FM and ARTtv will be covering the event as electronic media sponsors. Pyxle, readme.lk and Ingens will provide digital coverage for the event as Digital Media Sponsors.
