Strategic Partnership Solutions is to rebrand itself as Australian Strategic Partnerships, and with it set up a marketing and sales office in Melbourne, Australia in their bid to penetrate the Australian market, the company has announced.

“Having recently partnered with the Austin Group, the company is now looking to take its digital foot print international, starting with the Asia Pacific region. The company believes there is significant demand in the SME sector in the Australian and Asia Pacific markets for a quality product at a different price point from the traditional market leaders such as lBM, Kodak and Pegasus,” said CEO SP Solutions Neidra Williams.

Strategic Partnership Solutions was one of the pioneer companies in Sri Lanka dedicated to providing Workflow Management and Document Management solutions. Over the last 10 years the company has digitised and continues to manage over 300 business processes for Sri Lankan firms including banks, financial services companies, insurance companies and diversified groups of companies. The company’s flagship product eDGEVANTAGE, is Sri Lanka’s most widely used Business Process Management Platform. eDGEVANTAGE is also used in Australia, the Philippines and Japan, by their partners TurboViz Ltd of Australia, who manage mail rooms and related delivery workflows for large multi-nationals such as The Royal Bank of Scotland, IBM, HSBC and Deutsche Bank. “The platform in its 4th iteration is now both database and platform independent, cloud compatible and mobile enabled, with several mobile applications designed to leverage mobile technology as a disruptor and innovator to gain a strategic advantage in achieving efficiencies and visibility in business,” explained Director Marketing SP Solutions Jehan Bastians.

eDGEVANTAGE works as a middle tier, in most instances on top of a traditional ERP system, to help businesses manage customer requests and other internal business processes. Over the 300 processes it has automated, eDGEVANTAGE has been integrated to many different platforms including but not limited to: SAP Oracle eBiz Suit, J. D, Edwards. Movex, the Hsenid HRIS system and several other banking, insurance and manufacturing platforms.

As part of its rebranding and expansion strategy the company has decided to sponsor the 1996 ICC World Cup Champions tour to Australia. This historic tour is supported by Cricket Australia & Cricket Victoria and will be the first time in 19 years that the former teammates will travel together.

“Despite our longstanding presence in the market no one knows about us. We’ve never advertised - our clients know about us, but the general public don’t - the media has never heard about us, we’ve never run an advert except for a vacancy advert,” Bastians noted, explaining that this soft marketing approach would not work in Australia, which is why the company jumped at the opportunity of sponsoring the ’96 WC Champions tour.

“We felt that this was the ideal platform because we felt that it gave us both markets. It raised awareness about our product in the local market in Sri Lanka, and we also get a foothold in the Australian market.”

Partner at Austin Group Manjula Kulatunga, added: “Australia, as everyone knows, is a sporting nation and they love their sportsman. And especially when you take the 1996 Sri Lankan cricket team and everything that happened around that time, they have a lot of respect for them - it’s not only the Sri Lankan expats, it’s the Australian sports loving public as well.”
