SLASSCOM to host CXO Breakfast Briefing on ‘Impact of policies concerning the internet on innovation

The SLASSCOM CXO Breakfast Briefing on ‘Impact of policies concerning the internet on innovation and economic growth’ featuring a keynote address by Ann Lavin-Director, Policy and Government Affairs, Greater China and Asian Growth Markets, Google will be held on 5 September from 7:30 a.m.  to 11 a.m. at Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel. It seeks to learn from the successes and failures of the implementation of policies concerning the internet around the region and its impact on innovation and economic growth of those countries. This will be followed by a panel discussion with eminent panellists including: Ann Lavin – Director, Policy and Government Affairs, Greater China and Asian Growth Markets, Google Jayantha Fernando – Program Director/Legal Advisor, Information and Communications Technology Agency (ICTA) Madu Ratanayake – Chairman SLASSCOM and Senior Vice President and General Manager Virtusa (Moderator) Sriganesh Lokanathan – Senior Research Manager, LIRNEasia Professor Malik Ranasinghe – Senior Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of  Moratuwa (UoM)  and  noted Academic As Google’s Director, Public Policy and Government Affairs for Greater China and Southeast Asia, Ann Lavin focuses works to focus on a range of issues including economic empowerment, content regulation, geopolitics, privacy and general technology policy. She has spent over a decade living or working in Asia. Before joining Google, Lavin was a Senior Advisor with McLarty Associates, a US-based strategic advisory firm and Vice President of the US-ASEAN Business Council, the principal US business organisation in Southeast Asia.
