Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) is the IT\BPO industry chamber focused on furthering the IT/BPO industry in Sri Lanka.
‘All our endeavours are geared towards driving Sri Lanka to reach our national goal of leading Sri Lanka to the knowledge economy while achieving the target of US$1 billion in revenue and employment to over 100,000 by 2015,’ said Sujiva Dewaraja, the new chairman of SLASSCOM at the recently held AGM.
SLASSCOM elected its fourth board and general council consisting of key industry leaders and decision makers to drive this vision for 2011.
IT/BPO industry is one of the fastest growing industries in Sri Lanka and has set a target of US$ 1 billion export revenue by 2015. The Sri Lankan IT and BPO industry is projected to grow by 26% in 2011 with export earnings estimated at US$ 390 million for 2010. SLASSCOM has a vision to make the IT/ BPO industry a top export earner for the country and provide mass employment generation with more foreign direct investment for the country. SLASSCOM plays a catalyst role with aggressive plans to capitalise the opportunities for Sri Lanka in 2011.
SLASSCOM acts as the catalyst of growth for the Sri Lankan IT and BPO industry by facilitating trade and business, propagation of education and employment, encouragement of research and innovation, and by supporting the creation of a progressive national policy framework.
