Security through obscurity: Is it a myth?

ICTA CEO Muhunthan Canagey Chief Guest at Ethical Hackers Forum on 20 March

  Newly-appointed CEO of ICT Agency of Sri Lanka, Muhunthan Canagey will be the Chief Guest at the Ethical Hackers Forum of Sri Lanka on 20 March at 6 p.m. at the Olympic House at Independence Avenue, Colombo 7. Canagey has been in the ICT industry for over 20 years and is one of the country’s youngest entrepreneurs. He holds a Masters’ Degree in Information Technology and has extensive knowledge of the industry. He was the founder and CEO of multiple technology enterprises, and was the founder and CEO of a highly-successful enterprise in the area of satellite communication and media. He has been very successful in productising software applications developed in Sri Lanka, and in formulating strategies and policies for taking local products to the international market. In addition to Canagey, Krishna Rajagopal, CICRA’s Master Trainer and CEO Akati Consulting Malaysia, will speak at the fourth session of the forum themed ‘Security through Obscurity: Is it a myth?’ The guest speaker will be Pravin Srinivasan is Head – Security Sales, India and SAARC with Cisco. Representing CICRA Alumni, Hans Wilhem Thomasz, Senior Information Security Officer of Qatar Development Bank, Qatar will also speak at the Forum. “We always try to develop technological solutions against various cyber-attacks. But, we consider less on how much user negligence could cause huge damages in our IT infrastructures and operations,” said Boshan Dayaratne, Director/CEO, CICRA Holdings. The forum brings together cyber security professionals from different industries and sectors together into one common platform and provide them with an interactive space for knowledge sharing.
