PwC recently held a series of Enterprise Resource Planning workshops for select clientele of PwC Maldives. These workshops were specifically focused on introducing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 – a widely used global Enterprise Resource Planning solution that provides small and midsized businesses greater control over their financials and simplifies their supply chain operations.
Jatindra Bhattray, Resident Director, PwC – Maldives providing an introduction to the firm stressed upon the service catalogue and the collaboration with PwC Sri Lanka to deliver technology based solutions. He went on to highlight the generic yet industry specific issues that were visible on ground when providing audit and advisory services to organisations in Maldives.
Organisations in Maldives use isolated financial as well as operational systems instead of ERPs. As such an investment in an ERP would enable organisations to gain business insights for better decision making and plan growth. ERP systems would enhance service delivery and cost efficiencies, contribute to compliance and control with timely generation of statutory and management reports.
The second segment of the workshop was delivered by Yudy Kanagasabai, Chief Executive Officer, PwC – Sri Lanka who spoke of the importance of an Enterprise Resource Planning solution and the significance of the case for change. Kanagasabai spoke of the criticality of the four domains – finance, industry, process and product – and how the knowledge of each would contribute towards the success of the project. He also explained nuances on varied industries and articulated the approach, the risks involved and the key success factors associated with the technology transformation in order to drive operational excellence.
The final segment on Enterprise Resource Planning solution implementation and maintenance was delivered by Shanil Algama, Senior Manager, PwC – Sri Lanka. The segment was focused on taking the participants though the various stages of the project inclusive of maintenance whist highlighting the salient action items of each stage. He went on to demonstrate the latest version of the Enterprise Resource Planning solution – Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2016 – while sharing the features, capabilities, and improvements found in the same that have helped Clients to work in new and better ways. Algama also explained the varied deployment options of on – premise and Cloud along with the success stories and nuances of each method.
