Sri Lanka’s first-ever live entertainment-based coding challenge
OZO Colombo was the venue for Sri Lanka’s very first live entertainment based coding challenge organised by Google in partnership with TNL Radio. The project titled Hack ‘n’ Roll was organised to bridge the gap in developing applications and solutions to supplement and enhance live entertainment-oriented events.
The 36 hour continuous coding and development challenge held at Aqua – the high-tech main function space with an amazing view of the Indian Ocean at OZO Colombo – saw an overwhelming participation from a range of IT institutions and corporations.
This national initiative seeks to provide a platform for up-and-coming tech savvy professionals representing all IT disciplines to receive recognition and exposure, and showcase Sri Lankan talent to the global arena.
Commenting on the partnership for Hack ‘n’ Roll, OZO Colombo Regional General Manager Damian Ball said: “We use technology to create a hassle free experience for our patrons and as a source to provide unlimited entertainment around the hotel. Hack ‘n’ Roll is a great initiative for recognising young talent and will be beneficial to the IT sector in Sri Lanka.”
