Global Events & Convention Services together with FOSSMART Ltd. will be hosting the ‘Open Source Forum Sri Lanka – 2014,’ which will be held on 4 March 2014 at Galadari Hotel, Colombo. It will be the first enterprise forum about open source to be held in Sri Lanka.
The event will bring together 150 of the top C-Level executives and corporate leaders from Sri Lanka’s business and Government sectors. They will discuss and learn about the latest trends in open source technology. They will explore possibilities to adapt enterprise-ready open source solutions into the corporate environment to drive innovation and gain maximum value. This event is by Invitation Only. Enterprises, governments and many other entities are getting more accustomed to and more comfortable with using open source software technologies than ever before.
The objective of this event is to discuss maximising the value of big data, cloud computing, virtualization, content management systems and business intelligence through the adaptation of open source to bring affordability, control and openness. The event will start at 4 p.m., with Registration opening at 3:30 p.m. It will continue until 7:30 p.m. The program will culminate in technical presentations from the sponsors and a panel discussion.
The keynote address will be by Mickey Bharat (Global Leader Channels & Embedded – Linux and Virtualisation) on ‘CIO’s Journey from Data Centre to Cloud. Closed Source vs Open Source?’ Technical presentations will include Vivek Gupta (Head Partners and Alliances – India and SAARC) from Amazon Web Services on ‘Cloud Computing and Democratisation of IT’ and Amit Jain (Senior Channels Manager) from Oracle Linux on ‘Linux for the Enterprise – Fast, Modern, Reliable’.
The panel members will consist of the presenters along with industry leaders such as Thilan Wijesinghe – Chairman/CEO, TW Corp Ltd., Reshan Dewapura – CEO, ICT Agency of Sri Lanka and Madu Ratnayake – Chairman, SLASSCOM/Virtusa – Head of Digital, Senior Vice President/General Manager.
