Mobitel secures prestigious ISO certification for Information Security Management

The National Mobile Service Provider Mobitel received international recognition recently when it was awarded the prestigious ISO 27001:2005 certification for the company’s solid and reliable Information Security Management System (ISMS) for securing information within the organisation and ensuring safety and reliability to its customers. The globally recognised ISO 27001:2005certification safeguards the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information within an organisational framework and has been considered the most stringent security control certification process available worldwide. The ISMS ensures a secure governance structure within the IT processes, giving Mobitel further industry recognition for its dependability and assurance to its customers by adhering to strict security measures, to provide a quality service to the Mobitel customer base by covering key IT processes within Mobitel’s Information Systems division. Mobitel CEO Ranjith G. Rubasinghe stated: “This is a significant occasion for Mobitel as the company has obtained the ISO 27001:2005 certification by developing a secure Information Security Management System and improving key IT processes as well as its information security policies.
