National mobile service provider, Mobitel, recently partnered Microsoft, the world’s leading software and services company, as an authorised Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) to introduce Microsoft Cloud-Based Solutions for local businesses.
The partnership will enable Mobitel to offer a host of world-class technologically efficient and productive services such as ‘Office 365’, ‘Azure’, ‘Dynamics CRM’, ‘SharePoint’, ‘Skype’ for Business and ‘Yammer’ together with a wide variety of Mobitel’s own unique benefits and service offerings to enterprises and SMEs.
The strategic collaboration between Microsoft and Mobitel will ensure the smooth functioning of the operation and control of the complete customer lifecycle through direct billing, provisioning, management and support. The technologically efficient program will initially be introduced with ‘Office 365’ and later extended with other Microsoft cloud services in the near future.
Mobitel is the first telecom operator in Sri Lanka to introduce this service to corporate customers, and the launch of these new innovative solutions strengthens Mobitel’s leading position as a Business Solution Provider in the country.
With Office 365, businesses of all sizes can now access enterprise-ready business solutions with a predictable monthly subscription, effectively removing the need for significant upfront investments in IT infrastructure and maintenance. Moving to the cloud with Office 365 does not require a business to change the way it works because familiar productivity tools from Microsoft Office Applications are at the heart of Office 365.
The new solution will enable enterprises to access the original document, change content and share and publish as they see fit. The tools are agile, responsive, secure and completely mobile for higher productivity among employees. Cloud-based Office 365 will provide enterprises access to an e-mail platform, ‘One Drive’, which will create easy access to all employees to work on the same document in real time, ‘Skype’ for the quickest online conferencing despite one’s location, ‘Yammer’ – an internal platform for enterprises gaining access for employees to find solutions to their problems and connect with counterparts for efficient and seamless collaborations.
Furthermore, the Cloud Office 365 solution will offer ‘Office Delve’ a personalised insights to find people, content and conversations that are most relevant as per the need and ‘Power Bi’ a solution that will empower employees with the right data by extracting insights from big data without a business intelligence specialist.
Microsoft’s uncompromising policy on maintaining stringent measures to secure privacy, ensuring customer and enterprise data is secured with encryption and multi-factor authentications. The ‘Office 365’ suit is designed to secure all customer and enterprise data by compliance to global standards such as ISO 27001, EU Model Clauses, HIPAA and FISMA. Built-in capabilities and customer controls – ‘Office 365’ delivers best practices in data center design, data loss prevention (DLP), Rights Management Services (RMS) and Group Policy settings that enable fine-grained controls over sensitive data.
