Lenovo appoints Abans as exclusive distributor for ‘Yoga’ tablet range in SL

World No. 1 commercial notebook maker and Global Fortune 500 company Lenovo on Wednesday (30) announced the appointment of Abans PLC as exclusive distributor for its range of tablets in Sri Lanka at Kings Court, Cinnamon Lakeside.
The strategic tie-up with Lenovo ‘THINK’ and ‘IDEA’ products is set to make significant strides in the IT market in Sri Lanka.
A $ 34 billion personal technology company, the largest PC maker worldwide and an emerging PC Plus leader serving customers in more than 160 countries, Lenovo’s business is built on product innovation, a highly efficient global supply chain and strong strategic execution.
With its tie-up with Abans, a group with Rs. 28 billion in annual turnover, Lenovo will target a 20% share in the tablet market that is currently dominated by Samsung and Apple.
Being No. 1 in the global PC market, with its Yoga range of multimode PCs and tabs, Lenovo will also look to challenge the global market and improve its standings in tablets and smartphones as well. The range is currently available in 28 countries with the company looking at increasing its availability in 164 countries in the near future.
The new tablet range comes equipped with three modes – ‘Hold mode,’ ‘Stand mode’ and ‘Tilt mode,’ which gives users additional functionality and ease of use. In addition the product also comes packed with two cylindrical lithium ion batteries, giving users a total usage time of 18 hours. This also allows smartphone users to use the devices as charging stations as well. The Yoga tablets come in two sizes – eight inch and 10 inch.
Lenovo’s product line includes a full range of commercial and consumer PCs, servers and workstations, and a family of mobile internet devices including smart phones and tablets.
The company’s ‘Protect and Attack’ strategy is key to Lenovo’s success and the right strategy for a PC Plus world. It drives record market share, improved profitability and a more balanced business for the company.

The tie-up of Lenovo with Abans marks a significant milestone for the Abans which is a market leader in Sri Lanka for IT, electronics and home appliances.

Lenovo tablets are available at all Abans showrooms island-wide starting from Rs. 39,000 upwards and also available on interest free terms.
